Today is Commonwealth Day, it is a day to celebrate the Commonwealth of Nations and the 56 countries that it comprises as well as for them to reaffirm their commitment to the Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth is a group comprised of 56 nations from every continent in the world and over 2.5 billion people live in commonwealth countries, this commonwealth day will mark the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Commonwealth Charter, which was signed by Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 11th March 2013. This will also be the first Commonwealth day celebration presided over by Charles as a King.
These nations that make up the Commonwealth are spread all across the globe allowing it to spread influence and its ideals to every corner of the world.
